The Gmail app for android is fully integrated with your contacts and other applications and enables you to use all the features of gmail on your droid smartphone. In short, a wonderful little app you will soon be unable to do without, that is, if you use Gmail. 

Email apps like this make you ten times more productive and efficient, because when you think about it, for most of us emailing sucks up a lot of our daily time. But since sitting in the subway or train, waiting for the bus or standing in line at the Starbucks always sucks up a great deal of time, you can get a lot of work done with the Gmail app while you wait. :) 

Besides the normal Gmail features, it has many nice smartphone features, such as view messages by conversation, stars, labels and accessing synched messages when offline. 

Really, if you use Gmail and have a droid smartphone, you'd be insane NOT to download this app. Certifiable.
